Subliminal Persuasion - How To Curb Consumer's Doubts

Subliminal Persuasion - How To Curb Consumer's Doubts

There are many powerful emotions that can overwhelm a consumer's mind. The study of these triggers that affect and influence the way consumers make decisions is an active part of marketing and advertising. Some of these emotions are fear, guilt, and anger.

There is, however, another powerful emotion that marketers and businessmen should know how to master before they can achieve sales success and win their customers over.

As the market becomes more and more competitive by the minute, and as it gets crowded with all the new products out there, consumers have developed a kind of suspicious stance when examining or perusing products they want to buy. They approach each buying opportunity with caution, and many believe that this is also caused by the availability of several options they can choose from.

Customer suspicion is difficult to battle because it springs from the powerful emotion we call doubt. And doubt is also especially difficult to master, as marketers also find out, mainly because it is so easy to become the target of doubt.

1. Watch out for suspicion. At the same time, however, the power of doubt can also be used to your advantage. You just have to know how to play the game, and this is one tricky game that requires you to move and react fast. When you sense that your customer is already on the verge of suspicion, you have only a few minutes or even seconds to turn the conversation around. Likewise, if you're doing well in convincing your customers, you should proceed with caution since one wrong move or word can easily make your customer suspicious.

2. Win their trust. If you want to get anywhere with your selling process, you have to gain customers' trust. This is the only way you can successfully curb the doubts that plague your customers' minds. This is where companies all over the world get creative; they employ various techniques to win people's trust. You can also get creative here. Most companies also use subliminal advertising so they also make their ads easier to trust and believe.

There are many types of subliminal advertising and many examples of subliminal persuasion in advertising, though this particular selling strategy is cloaked with a lot of legalities. Nevertheless, there are a lot of print ads, TV ads, and radio ads today that are embedded with coded messages that say more than what consumers consciously see or hear in the ads.

3. Unearth their needs. Most products being sold on the market have a strong demand. The reason why a lot of businesses fail is that people have become suspicious, so they don't readily buy even if they need the product.

If you are a businessman, marketer, or salesperson, the road to power, profit, and success lies in subliminal persuasion. Subliminal persuasion communicates directly with the subconscious in the form of messages hidden in music, videos, and so on.

Take note, however, that subliminal programming does not just plant original ideas in the mind. To define subliminal persuasion, it is the process of playing on and reinforcing ideas that are already hidden and buried deep inside the mind. Thus, you are not fooling customers to buy from you. Instead, you are unearthing the need for your product that is already in their minds.
